Hey Jerrika, it’s been a month! What have you been up to?
Glad you asked, stranger!
In January, I was cast in an indie feature called Teacher of the Year. Last week, I was in New Orleans shooting a commercial with Todd Stashwick and notable director, David Shane. And this week, I can officially say the film I wrote/directed is complete.
the official premiere for scandal has been released, so set your dvrs for 5 april! actually, just set your dvrs to catch the third episode of the season where you’ll see yours truly in a badass li’l role i hope ends up being brought back. (hey…just puttin’ it out there!)

this week rocks
1. all the actors we have offers out for are rolling in confirmed. yay, we’re getting what/who we want for my short film!
2. i shoot another commercial tomorrow. yay, ka-ching!
3. in this final week of pre-production, my exec producer and i are still warm and loving towards each other. yay, this project isn’t destroying any friendships!
4. just got word today that i’ll be shooting a guest star on shonda rhimes’ new show, scandal, this friday. yay, substantial work!
5. even with all this going on, i haven’t had a meltdown in six days! yay, learning-to-better-take-care-of-myself!
just got the third text message in under an hour, so it’s official: my bank of america commercial is now playing. so if you see a curly-haired doc in front of an atm, thass me.
also! my bones episode airs 14 april. tune in!

this week i’ll go guest star on bones. the episode, the truth in the myth, is directed by chad lowe and will most likely air in april.
yes, i get to look into the eyes of a lowe for hours. yes, jealousy is an appropriate feeling for you to have.
i’m still trying to figure out the best way to regale you with the true stories from a recent day on a racist set.

fun fact: my bf thinks the guy (ace gibson) looks like tiger woods and, as such, hates his guts.

the playtex shoot is tomorrow and i have my sonnet (based on shakespeare’s 18th) all written for the ad folk. although, after today’s fitting, i’m thinking i should alter it to include something about my flabby-ass body…but i’ll refrain.
